About the Role:
Join Curious Minds in Fort Collins, CO as our Daycare Cook/Chef and Kitchen Manager! You will play a vital role in nourishing our little ones with healthy, delicious meals while managing a dynamic kitchen environment.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook nutritious meals that meet dietary guidelines for children.
- Plan weekly menus that incorporate seasonal ingredients and cater to various dietary needs.
- Ensure kitchen cleanliness and compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Manage inventory, ordering, and storage of food supplies efficiently.
- Supervise kitchen staff and train them on food preparation and safety standards.
- Develop engaging cooking activities that promote healthy eating habits among children.
- Collaborate with daycare staff to accommodate special events and celebrations.
- Maintain accurate records of food preparation and meal service.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a cook or chef, preferably in a daycare or school setting.
- Knowledge of nutrition and dietary restrictions for young children.
- Food Handler’s Certification or equivalent food safety training.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team.
- Passion for cooking and creating healthy meals for children.
- Excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanor.
- Flexibility to adapt menus and schedules as needed.
